The Subtlety of Idolatry

            Women's Class During Lent

CLOSURE NOTICE: Due to COVID-19, The Subtlety of Idolatry class is CANCELLED until further notice. For more information, click here. We will be in communication here and via email in the weeks ahead to keep you informed regarding Women's Ministry programming.

Increase, O God, the spirit of neighborliness among us, that in peril we may uphold one another, in suffering tend to one another, and in homelessness, loneliness, or exile befriend one another. Grant us brave and enduring hearts that we may strengthen one another, until the disciplines and testing of these days are ended, and you again give peace in our time; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Lent is a season of preparation: a time of penitence, fasting, and prayer to remind us of the message of forgiveness throughout all of scripture, and of our deep need for Him in our daily lives. We invite you to consider coming to three specially designed classes from 6:30-8:30pm on March 4th, 18th and 30th (optional movie viewing on March 11th) at our church. We will be exploring the topic of Old Testament idolatry and what we can glean from this in our own lives.

During each class we will enjoy a meal together, hear teaching from our Christian Education Director, Jennifer Albertson, spend time in reflection and small-group discussion, and close with a short response in worship.  In order to gain the most benefit from the class we suggest some pre-reading from the Scriptures* coupled with a soul training activity to try each week.
*Please note that these readings and spiritual disciplines are not required for participating in the classes.

We will provide a gluten free, vegan entrée for each class.  If that will not satisfy your dietary requirements, or you would like to bring your own food, please let us know. We will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Email Larissa Lisk to RSVP, notify us of dietary considerations, or ask a question. All are welcome - we hope to see you there!
